Job Shadows & Internships

Juniors and Seniors!

Do you have a dream career in mind? Or would you like to explore career options? At Xavier High School, our students have the opportunity to explore career options through job shadow & internship opportunities provided by the Workplace Learning Center.

Job Shadows can be completed through Career Exploration Days or by shadowing a specific person in the field. Most are designed for 2-3 hours during the school day, and it is usually in a group setting.  Students must provide their own transportation and can complete one each year.

The internship program is designed to help students make those important future education and career decisions by getting directly involved in the career that interests them. Internships require a 45 or 90 hour commitment (5 or 10hr/wk) but students do get school credit for this program.  An application and interview process is required for placement.

Stop by the Guidance Department if you are interested. Additional information on the programs available can be found at www.workplace-learning.org
