History

Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is the sixth largest and only Catholic high school in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area. It is affiliated with twelve area Catholic parishes and the Archdiocese of Dubuque. It opened in 1998 after two previous Catholic high schools, Regis High School and LaSalle High School, merged.

The first principal of Xavier High School was Jeff Henderson who served from 1998 to 2004 when he became the Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

Prior to Regis and LaSalle, the Cedar Rapids area was served by Catholic High Schools at Immaculate Conception, St. Wenceslaus, St. Patrick in CR and St. Patrick in Fairfax.
