To Hills Bank, they believe in caring for not only their customers but for their entire community in which they serve. Hills Bank has been a long time partner and supporter of the Xavier Saints. They provide financial support and staff to Xavier Catholic Schools to promote financial literacy and leadership. Education is very important to Hills Bank and their support with Xavier is a prime example of this. “Having high quality schools is vital because without it, we would not be able to attract and retain residents, businesses, and development to our area.” said Senior Vice President Brad Joens (R96). More specifically, Catholic education is extremely important to the Joens family. As a graduate of Regis Class of 1996 and president of the LaSalle-Regis-Xavier Alumni Association, Brad finds a deep connection and value to our Catholic schools because of his education, but also through his children. Brad has two children within the Xavier Catholic School system: Delaney is in fifth grade and Andrew is in kindergarten at St. Pius X Elementary School, and Brad’s wife, Cara, works at Xavier High School in Student Services. “Being a part of the St. Pius X school community has been an amazing experience for our kids. The education is high quality and they learn that God is present and active in their lives,” stated Joens. That truly is the impact that Catholic education has on the lives of everyone involved. Between the highest quality education and the deep faith aspect, Xavier is a great contributor to our larger community. The Xavier community is grateful for the commitment of Hills Bank to bettering schools in the metro area.
With two daughters that graduated from Xavier, the Gallagher family has deep roots in the Xavier community. They believe Xavier set their children up for success at an extremely young age. “The quality education they received and the hard work and commitment to success they were taught at Xavier played a large part in their success as adults,” said Shawn Gallagher, owner of Adcraft Printing Company. Adcraft has been a key supporter of Xavier and the Xavier Foundation for many years. They believe the faith-based educational opportunities provided from Xavier provides the community with a steady flow of intelligent, hard working, and caring young people. At Adcraft they believe these core values and characteristics are necessary for not only a successful person, but also a community. “Xavier is an asset in the recruitment and retention of business to the metro area,” stated Gallagher. Because of these core beliefs, Adcraft has supported Xavier continuously. They believe in the mission of the school and the results it achieves in graduating tomorrow’s leaders. “Having a school like Xavier assures local businesses like Adcraft Printing will always have a steady supply of leaders and innovators with a deep sense of integrity and work ethic to help us succeed in the coming decades.” The Xavier Community is proud of our alumni and all they have accomplished for this community. We are grateful for the support of the local companies such as Adcraft for their generosity and support through all levels of the Xavier Catholic School System.
Xavier is blessed with support from Coldwell Banker. A large part of the success and achievement Xavier students experience stems from a focus on doing the little things well, making them everyday habits - a focus that is fortified by Xavier's approach to developing its students. This same focus is emphasized at Coldwell Banker, creating a natural partnership as both entities strive for excellence in a similar manner.
“The small actions and routines we do each day are important,” said Coldwell Banker President Mike Esker. “Xavier's culture, teachers, and staff have had a great impact on each of our children."
The Eskers are longtime supporters of Catholic education. Mike and his wife, Jody, have six children, all of whom have graduated from or are currently attending Xavier Catholic Schools. Jody also serves as Xavier’s Campus Ministry coordinator, a role she has embraced for over a decade.
"At Coldwell Banker, it’s a priority for us to share our treasures, talent, and time with Xavier,” said Esker. "Having great institutions for education, such as Xavier, also helps our organization. We are blessed to be able to promote the great educational options for incoming families in our community.
The Xavier community is extremely grateful for the continued support of Coldwell Banker and the Esker Family.
For Oscar’s Restaurant, the choice to support Xavier was easy. “Catholic education is a direct vision of our Lord. It is valuable to us because it mirrors the values and morals that we teach our children,” said Marie Chalhoub, owner of Oscar’s Restaurant. Oscar’s has been a fan of Xavier High School for years. They support Xavier because of the massive symbol of faith within the Cedar Rapids community. Marie attended Immaculate Conception and graduated from Regis High School. She now has grandchildren who are also enrolled within Xavier Catholic Schools. “Catholic education has always been and always will be a reflection of Christ in our lives, the people we impact, and those that impact us every day,” says Chalhoub. The Chalhoub family believes that Xavier is a key part to the community and the development of the next generation of leaders within the Cedar Rapids area. “Having a Catholic school like Xavier available to inspiring young minds in our area instills hard work, dedication, and passion which positively impacts our business and our Cedar Rapids community,” says Chalhoub.
