School safety is always a top priority at Xavier and with the incredible funding from Dancing with the Saints Season 6, Xavier has been able to bring to life a long time goal of building a more secure entrance for students and visitors to our school building. This new addition ensures an additional checkpoint once a visitor gets buzzed in through the main doors; adding a layer of safety for our students and staff.
Along with the new check-in at the main office, the funds from Dancing with the Saints also went to an upgraded electrical panel system. This includes reworking the fire alarms to alert people both in and out of the building when there is danger or severe weather. Flashing lights on fire alarms will be installed as well as intruder notifications through the school.
Xavier High School President, Chris McCarville, explains that this upgrade in school security does not mean that we can stop 100 percent of the dangers that pass through the front doors, but these improvements will go a long way in enhancing safety and security for our students, faculty, and staff.
Thank you to those that have made these safety upgrades at Xavier a reality.
