This week we enter into Holy Week, the most sacred period of our liturgical calendar. Holy Week includes both the Church’s most solemn observances and joyous feasts. Holy Thursday begins the Easter Triduum–the three days leading up to Jesus’ Resurrection. Its formal name is Mass of the Lord’s Supper, which was the first celebration of the Eucharist. Xavier will offer Stations of the Cross on Thursday performed by our students at both 10:40AM and at 11:45AM in the Theater.
Our Lenten journey is less about what we give up and more about how we grow closer to God. Each XHS community house planted paperwhite lilies on Ash Wednesday as a symbol of this growth. As we enter Holy Week, we are seeing the growth and flowers blooming!
