GO SAINTS! XHS Activities Week-in-Review: October 3, 2024

Football
The Football team beat Clinton on Friday, September 27th by a score of 56 to 0.
Congratulations to Coach Schulte and the team on winning the opening game of
District play. The Saints (1-0, 3-2) are ranked 7th in this week’s Radio Iowa 4A
Poll. The team plays again on Friday at 4A 6th ranked North Scott (1-0, 4-1).
Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Volleyball
The Volleyball team is ranked #1 in this week’s IGHSAU 4A Poll. The Saints beat
Dubuque Senior on Tuesday, October 1st by a score of 3 to 0. The team is now 5-0
in the MVC with an overall record of 20-1. The Saints play again on Friday,
October 4th and Saturday, October 5th in the ASICS Challenge Tournament at
Mother McAuley Liberals Arts High School in Chicago.

Swimming
CR Kennedy (CO-OP) hosted Dubuque Senior in an MVC Girls Swim dual on
Tuesday, October 1st. Congratulations to the following Saints who won events:

• Sarah Foerster in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 IM, the 400 Free Relay and the 100 Butterfly
• Lilly Anctil in the 200 Free, the 100 Free, the 400 Free Relay and the 200 Free Relay
• Lucy Nunez in the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay Girls Swim (CO-OP) members compete again on Saturday, October 5th:
• CR Kennedy is at the Ames Invitational beginning at 8:15 a.m.
• CR Washington is at the Cedar Falls Invitational beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Cross Country
The Cross Country teams competed in the Clear Creek-Amana Invitational on
Monday, September 30th.
The Girls team placed 3rd out of 10 competing teams. Keira placed 9th, Sophia
Musick placed 11th, and Cayleigh O’Brien placed 14th.
The Boys team placed 3rd out of 12 competing teams. Andrew Allen placed 3rd,
Kaleb Wilgenbusch placed 8th, and Jack Lammers finished 18th.
The Cross Country teams compete again on Saturday, October 5th in the Steve
Johnson Invitational hosted by Wartburg College. Meet time is 11:00 a.m.

Boys Golf
The Boys Golf team competed in the 3rd and final MVC Divisional on Monday,
September 30th at Hunters Ridge G.C. The Saints placed 2nd in the round and
2nd overall in the MVC Mississippi Division. Congratulations to Coach Schiltz and
all members of the team on an outstanding accomplishment.

The Boys Golf team is hosting a MVC Quadrangular on Thursday, October 3rd at
Wildcat G.C. Match time is 3:15 p.m.
The Boys Golf team competes in a 4A District on Monday, October 7th at Thunder
Hills C.C. beginning at 10:00 a.m. Good luck to Coach Schiltz and all members of
the team as the “road to state” begins!

Marching Band
The Marching Band performed at the Linn-Mar Invitational on Saturday,
September 28th. The Saints placed 3rd out of 10 competing teams.
Congratulations to Mr. Allard and all members of the Marching Saints on an
outstanding performance at Linn-Mar.
The Marching Band competes again on Saturday, October 5th in the Five Seasons
Marching Band Invitational @ Kingston Stadium. The Saints take the field at 7:15
p.m.
