The mission of Xavier Catholic Schools is to form disciples unafraid to follow Jesus Christ.
Xavier offers unparalleled Catholic education for its students through a strong commitment to faith development, positioning graduates for success in all post-high school endeavors, and nearly 100 percent participation from its students in at least one co-curricular activity.
Xavier is a success because of the support of its community. United as a “family of faith,” the Xavier community is comprised of students, current/former parents, alumni, parishioners, and businesses who share in our higher purpose to mold young disciples to be lights to the world.
Xavier High School was founded in 1998. Created through the merger of LaSalle High School and Regis High School, Xavier carries forth a proud legacy of excellence in Catholic education in the Cedar Rapids area dating back to the days of Saint Patrick High School, Saint Wenceslaus High School, Immaculate Conception High School, and Mount Mercy Academy.
Accredited by the National Catholic Education Association and the Iowa Department of Education, Xavier serves the greater Cedar Rapids area as a Catholic High School under the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Xavier typically enrolls 600-700 students each school year.

Xavier High School, the Xavier Foundation and the Archdiocese of Dubuque are committed to making sure Catholic education is available to students who desire it. Xavier cannot and will not become a school available to only those who can afford the full tuition. The Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future School Tuition Organization (STO) sponsored by the Archdiocese of Dubuque combined with Xavier’s local assistance program offer expanded opportunities to help qualifying families afford the Catholic School of their choice. This STO Program is available to both Catholic and non-Catholic families. Learn more...
